If you believe someone needs medical assistance and you are in the Westwood area, you should call 9-1-1 using a campus phone or (310) 825-1491 (Police Dispatch) from your cell phone. Symptoms include:

• Unresponsive, unable to be awakened
• Slow, irregular, absent breathing
• Mental confusion, coma or the person cannot be roused
• Cold, clammy, pale or bluish skin
• Uncontrolled vomiting

After calling for help, place the person on his/her side with knees bent to prevent choking from vomiting. Stay with the individual until help arrives.
