The Property and Evidence Unit maintains over 3,000 items of evidence, found property, and property being held for safekeeping. The Property and Evidence Unit receives and stores lost and found items from throughout the campus. Items being stored as evidence are generally held until the completion of the corresponding case. Found property and property held for safekeeping are held for 90 days and then disposed of according to California law. Evidence cannot be released without the clearance of the police detective or supervisor handling the case.
