Records Unit

The Records Unit is organized to maintain criminal history and crime report files. The Records Unit processes and distributes incoming police reports, provides fingerprinting services and various other over-the-counter services to the public and insurance companies, while servicing the needs of local, county, state and federal authorities. The Records Unit is staffed with five full time employees. Public services include, fingerprinting, release of police reports and criminal background checks for the public and authorized private agencies.

The Records Unit is also responsible for meeting legal mandates for statistical reporting and LiveScan fingerprint operations. The Records Unit is fully operational with a new Records Management System and a new cash handling system. The unit recently completed the purchase and installation of a mobile fingerprinting system which allows performance of off-site fingerprinting service for groups on campus.
