Department Policies

The UCLA Police Department provides online access to department policies that are of interest to the public. This is part of our on-going efforts to be open, accessible and accountable to the community we serve. We believe that this information will assist the community to better evaluate the Department and understand the actions taken by officers. It is not possible to anticipate every situation that may arise or to prescribe a specific course of action in each scenario that officers will face. However, these policies are the guidlines that govern officers' actions. We also expect all members to exercise common sense and good judgement.

Community feedback is important to the UCLA Police Department. We encourage the public to provide comments about exemplary performance by our employees or to identify actions that are not in accordance with established policies.
