Attempt to Identify: Attempted Robbery/Kidnapping Suspect

The UCLA Police Department continues to investigate the attempted kidnapping and robbery case reported on February 5, 2023. We are asking for the community’s help in providing any information that would assist in identifying the suspect. With assistance of the victims, this sketch was created.

Synopsis: On 2/5/23 at about 4:30 p.m., the suspect approached a victim near Parking Structure 1, held her hands and refused to let go, demanded she provide him money, and attempted to take her to another location while claiming he had a gun (none seen). At about 6:45 p.m., a suspect with a similar description approached two other victims near Parking Structure 7 and attempted to take them to another location. In both cases, victims were able to pull away from the suspect and leave the area.

Suspect Description: Male, Black, between 25 and 40 years old, 5’10”, slim build, short dark hair, brown eyes, wearing a dark blue shirt with white lettering, light blue jeans. Suspect had an orange/red blanket with him during the second incident. A witness later described contact with someone who resembled the suspect wearing a black “puffy” jacket with the right sleeve missing.
